  • 1 lb. Ground beef
  • 1 Small onion chopped
  • 1 Green bell pepper chopped
  • 1 Red bell pepper chopped
  • 2 Cloves garlic minced
  • 14 oz. Diced tomatoes or 1 can plum tomatoes diced
  • 1 tbsp. Chili powder
  • 1 tsp. Cumin
  • 1 tsp. Dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. Paprika
  • 1/4 tsp. Cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp. Sour cream for garnish
  • 2 tbsp. Cheddar cheese shredded for garnish

Instructions
 

  • In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked.
  • Add the onion, green and red bell peppers, and garlic to the pot. Cook until the vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the diced tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, oregano, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, pepper, and water.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Serve the chili hot, topped with sour cream and shredded cheddar cheese, if desired.
